Print of the Month Photograph Number Eighty Two
(copyright logo not present on actual fine art print)
I received your print today and just want to say: WOW! Yes, it is breathtaking. I get some ooohs and ahhs from some of the work I print but your print was awesome.
Keep up the good work. Thanks for running the special to entice some of us to sample what is possible with current technology, skill, and a strong dedication to excellence.
From the matting to the packaging it was a first class job.
Carl Fountain, Lakewood, California
The 82nd Alain Briot Print of the Month photograph is titled White Sands Sunset. It was created at White Sands National Monument near Alamogordo, New Mexico. When creating this image, I was attracted by the repetitive pattern made by the four yuccas growing next to each other, as well as by their differing colors, beige and black.
I waited until the clouds formed a shape that mirrored the pattern of the yucca sticks, somewhat like a mountain peak in the middle of the photograph. I was also attracted by the soft colors of the scene and I worked towards creating a soft contrast in the image as well as pastel colors when I optimized the image in Photoshop.
Little was done to the shapes and elements in the image. The majority of the work focused on colors and contrast. Post processing is an absolute requirement when creating a fine art photograph. Without post processing the image shows only what the camera saw.Post processing enables me to show what I saw. A lot of work is spent transforming what the amera saw into what I saw.
This photograph is available framed and unframed. It is hand signed on the mat and the print. The frame is a handmade Mahogany Finish Frame. The moulding is truly magnificent and does emphasize the beauty of this image. The photograph I took of the moulding show very closely how beautiful this presentation is. However, these pieces looks much better in reality than a web photograph can show! You just won't believe your eyes when you receive yours. All the framing materials used are Museum Quality, archival supplies. All my work is guaranteed for life in regard to fading and damage caused by framing materials.
Framed pieces are delivered in a stunning mahogany finish frame.
