The Photograph
The 62nd Alain Briot Print of the Month photograph is titled Sandstone Buttes. It was created at sunset during a duststorm on the Colorado Plateau. The browns, yellows and soft reds color palette is largely due to the sand in the air that filters and colors the light.
This image was captured using a Phase One P45 digital back on a Hasselblad V camera.
The Master File for this image is provided to you on a CD which ships with the artwork at no extra cost. This master file shows you how I optimized this image. Information about the photograph, including exposure time, lens used and other technical details --basically all you need to know to create this image yourself if you want to-- are also provided in a separate file on the CD. After unpacking your photograph, "Canyons of the San Juan 1," I was blown away by the colors, highlight, shadow detail, and the overall dynamic range of the image.
