Print of the Month Photograph Number Thirty
Patriarch Cypress, Point Lobos
(copyright logo not present on actual fine art print)
Zabriski Point arrived this weekend, and it is simply stunning.
The paper, the matting, very very professional and speaks "quality."
The photograph itself is much like the desert.
It speaks slowly, revealing itself over time. Very subtle and yet a very powerful force of nature.
An excellent work. The Master File is icing on the cake!

I am pleased to announce the release of the 30th Alain Briot Print of the Month Collection photograph: Patriarch Cypress, Point Lobos, California. This photograph was created during August 2005 while we travelled in California
Point Lobos was one of the favorite haunts of Edward Weston, who lived a short distance South on Wildcat Hill. Edward referred to Point Lobos, in his Daybooks, as "the Point." He went there everyday at certain times in his life, working different locations of The Point until he was satisfied he had shown it the way he intended to.
I have been to Point Lobos twice and I personally consider it a photographically challenging situation. The possibilities are there but the visual attraction of Point Lobos is not easy to convey in photographs. I felt that way when I created this image and was pleasantly surprised when I achieved an image on screen, and later a print, that I find satisfying. As has been the case before with the print of the month I decided to select it based on viewer's feedback as much as on my own satisfaction with this image.
This photograph is available framed and unframed. It is hand signed on the mat and the print. The frame is a handmade Mahogany Finish Frame. The moulding is truly magnificent and does emphasize the beauty of this image. The photograph I took of the moulding show very closely how beautiful this presentation is. However, these pieces looks much better in reality than a web photograph can show! You just won't believe your eyes when you receive yours. All the framing materials used are Museum Quality, archival supplies. All my work is guaranteed for life in regard to fading and damage caused by framing materials.
Framed pieces are delivered in a stunning mahogany finish frame.
